1. Always Conduct Thorough Market Research
This is perhaps the most important key to being a good buyer’s agent. The colloquialism ‘knowledge is power’ is really critical to embrace when you begin to look for properties and consult with your buyers on submitting purchase offers. By displaying your knowledge of the local market, your buyers will feel more comfortable working with you and know that you have their best interests at heart. When this happens, your buyers will feel confident referring you to their friends and families. And that is how you build your business.

2. Find (and utilize!) A Great CRM
Keeping track of current buyers, properties, prospects and seller agents can be a difficult task. This is where having a good CRM (or customer relationship manager) comes in handy. A good CRM should be able to track all of your contacts, integrate with email and phone services, and calendar at a bare minimum. Hubspot offers a great free(they also offer a paid version) CRM that integrates with G Suite and Microsoft products. You can even dial contacts right from your phone via the Hubspot app. There are also real estate industry focused CRMs and other contact management software out there such as REA. But from a cost effective solution, Hubspot is the best.

3. Manage Your Social Media And Online Presence
Managing your social media and other online presence (including your firm’s website, review websites such as Yelp, etc) is a fundamental part of how to be a better buyer’s agent in 2019. Whether the content is put out by you or your buyers in the form of reviews, it’s really important to maintain control and be aware of what is out there. As a buyer’s agent, you’re really selling yourself and your own personal brand versus a product. Reputation management is something that you cannot take lightly.
